Back in 2014 I got sick, like, really sick. Chronic illness happens to a lot of people, and once the initial fear passes one thing is undeniably true: it's really, really, really, really boring.
It's also a bit weird to talk about, so I penned this little ditty as an introduction to how things are. The plan was to play it ten or so times in April 2017 as part of the Get Found tour, but it was accidentally broadcast over the internet on a live stream and took on a life of its own.
On that same tour the good people of Old Blacksmiths Studios, Ben Whyntie and Neil Elliott (aka Nelly But Not That Nelly), invited me down to their studio with a simple goal: turn Safe Mode into a full band song, writing and recording in the space of a day. We got it done in five hours including a break for lunch. It's rough around the edges, but those dudes are good.
So, here it is, the official demo of Safe Mode. The download has finished but hey, it's here to stream until I say otherwise.
**UPDATE: I'm on tour! Safe Mode download is active again until 15th of April**
